Longueuil Honda is a family business that started operations modestly in a small garage located on Verchère street in Longueuil. The main activity at this time for the company was bodyshop repair.
In december 1968, the company was incorporated under the name Verchères Auto. The company at that date, was counting on the collaboration of eight employees.
In 1970, the company Peugeot decided to open a franchise in Longueuil. Verchères Auto bought one and moved its operation on the boulevard Curé-Poirier in Longueuil. The number of employees of the company increased to fifteen.
In july 1973, as the european car market declined, Peugeot had only two exportable models in Canada. Verchères Auto decided at this time to take an all-new automotive franchise, Honda. This adventure seemed a little risky, given that at this time the market was still occupied almost only by american cars.
In 1975, due to the overwhelming succes of Honda products, Verchères Auto decided to expand its locations and moved at 2066 Chambly Road.
In fall 1977, the company finally abandoned the Peugeot franchise. Honda had put on the market its famous Accord model. The number of employees at that time was increased to twenty-five.
In 1979, the company decided to expand its headquarters and relocated to 3551 Chambly Road, the actual location of the dealership. Honda cars occupies much of the north american market and the range of products offered truly meets the needs of customers. The company seems to be moving towards success.
The owner, Mr. Léo-Paul Morin, does not hesitate to do even more and for this reason Verchère Auto expands again in 1990. The name Longueuil Honda was adopted in 1995.
In 2001, the dealership went trough major renovations. Funny fact, the employees spend a full january day working at -20 degree celcius, the time that workers redo the facade !
In fall 2004, in order to remain faithful to his frinds and customers and provide quality service, jobs are lunched to relocate the bodyshop and used vehicules in a brand new building. The number of service bays at the mecanics is thereby increased.
In 2005, Mr. Léo-Paul Morin left the presidency of the company to his daughter, Mrs. Chantale Morin, who works in the company since its beginning. To date, she is still surrounded by employees who have begun to work at Longueuil Honda with her.
Today, Longueuil Honda has 60 employees dedicated to providing our customers the best possible service. We are proud to mention that several employees have between 10 and 35 years of service. Mrs. Morin is now working with her two children. It seems that Longueuil Honda will be part of the picture for several more years !
